Hillary Knotts is a Financial Advisor and the Chief Compliance Officer at Blue Ocean Capital, where she focuses on delivering strategic tax planning and compliance, personalized financial planning and family office services to high-net-worth families. With over 15 years of professional experience, Hillary brings a distinctive blend of technical tax knowledge and wealth management acumen to her work, serving clients with insight, precision and care.

Hillary’s expertise spans tax compliance and strategic planning across a wide spectrum of structures, fiduciary and individual income tax. She partners with clients and their estate attorneys to guide the implementation of estate plans, ensuring smooth execution. Her ability to simplify complex financial scenarios and communicate them clearly is one of the hallmarks of her client service.

In addition to her work in tax, Hillary is part of the firm’s wealth management services. She develops detailed, tailored financial plans that serve as the foundation for customized investment strategies. As a family office executive, she oversees the aspects of a family’s financial life from bill pay to money movement to philanthropic gifting strategies.

As Chief Compliance Officer, Hillary is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing the firm’s compliance framework, ensuring that Blue Ocean Capital remains aligned with regulatory standards while upholding the highest levels of ethical conduct. Her personal values of integrity and trustworthiness guide her role as CCO and in every client relationship.

Prior to joining Blue Ocean Capital in 2013, Hillary began her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Private Company Services tax group, where she gained experience working across client engagements from start to finish. She holds both a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance and a Master of Accountancy from Florida State University.

A third-generation native of West Palm Beach, Hillary still calls the city home. She lives there with her husband, Caleb, and stepchildren and values traveling, attending sporting events and playing tennis. Hillary serves as Treasurer and is on the Board of Directors of First Serve USA and is a member of Family Church.
