Colleen DeWoody Bracci is a Principal at Blue Ocean Capital. With over 30 years of experience providing tax services in public accounting, Colleen specializes in advising closely held businesses, real estate partnerships and high-net-worth individuals throughout their business and personal life cycles. Colleen focuses on income tax planning with a particular emphasis on wealth preservation strategies designed to support long-term financial security for individuals and families, including sales of closely-held businesses or transitions to the next generation. Colleen believes the strength of Blue Ocean Capital lies in its extraordinary team and the longstanding relationships with clients, many of whom she has had the privilege of advising for more than 30 years.
Before joining Blue Ocean Capital, Colleen was the local Partner-in-Charge at a regional accounting firm for 16 years. Prior to that, she was the founder and Managing Partner of DeWoody & Co., a local boutique firm distinguished for its tax expertise. Under Colleen’s leadership, the firm grew into a successful, all-women practice that she managed for over a decade before transitioning her team and clients to a larger regional platform. Colleen began her career at a Big Four firm, rising to the position of tax manager, specializing in real estate and high-net-worth individual tax matters.
Colleen is currently the Board Treasurer for the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing world-class pediatric healthcare. She has held past board leadership roles with the Junior League of the Palm Beaches and Stop! Children’s Cancer of Palm Beach.
Colleen holds both a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Accountancy with a concentration in Tax from Florida State University. She is a Florida licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts.
