Laura Teter, CPA

Laura Teter is a Real Estate and Multi-State Tax Consultant in the tax practice at Blue Ocean Capital with over 30 years of experience in public accounting. Laura oversees compliance and consulting engagements for individuals, partnerships and corporations, with a particular focus on owner-operated and closely held Limited Liability Companies and S-Corporations with multi-state operations.

Laura was drawn to the profession by the challenge of applying tax law to a wide variety of client scenarios. Throughout her career, she has found professional fulfillment in tailoring solutions that not only achieve favorable tax outcomes but also ease the burden of compliance for her clients. Building long-term relationships based on trust and reliability has been the most rewarding aspect of her work.

Prior to joining Blue Ocean Capital in 2021, Laura held a senior manager position at Daszkal Bolton in Jupiter, Florida, where she provided comprehensive tax solutions for a diverse client base. Earlier in her career, she served as a manager at DeWoody & Company, a boutique tax firm specializing in advising high-net-worth individuals and businesses. Laura began her career at Ernst & Young, working in the Real Estate Consulting Group, where she developed a strong foundation in tax strategy and advisory services as a tax senior.

Laura earned both her Bachelor of Science in Accounting and her Master of Accountancy with a concentration in Tax from the University of Florida. She is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of Florida and a member of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants.
