Mark Elhilow, CPA, PFS™
Co-Founder & Managing Principal
Mark Elhilow is a Co-Founder and Managing Principal of Blue Ocean Capital, where he leads the firm’s strategic vision and daily operations. With more than 30 years of experience, Mark’s practice is grounded in a deep understanding of complex investment strategies, fiduciary best practices, multigenerational estate planning and the thoughtful stewardship of client wealth.
Before co-founding Blue Ocean Capital in 1997, Mark worked for 15 years with the public accounting firm of Nowlen, Holt and Miner, P.A. in West Palm Beach, Florida, where he served as a shareholder with a concentration in wealth management and tax advisory services for high-net-worth individuals and families. His early exposure to the intersection of tax, business and wealth strategies shaped the foundational principles which define his leadership at Blue Ocean Capital today.
Mark earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Florida State University, with extensive coursework in Finance and Real Estate. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of Florida, a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS™), and holds the NASD Series 65 license. These professional designations, combined with decades of hands-on experience, have reinforced his commitment to serving clients with objectivity, discipline and integrity.
Mark’s professional philosophy is centered on ensuring clients feel both confident and grateful for the advice and service they receive. His approach is shaped by a strong belief that certifications and technical expertise are not merely credentials but evidence of the dedication and discipline necessary to earn a client’s trust. What sets Blue Ocean Capital apart, in Mark’s view, is its culture of giving and collaboration, mentoring a community of like-minded professionals who give generously of their knowledge and experience, subordinating their own interests in favor of client success.
Beyond his professional work, Mark has long been dedicated to community service, a passion rooted in his family’s greater than century-long history in West Palm Beach. His commitment to civic engagement and charitable leadership reflects a deeply held belief in the power of giving back through a tradition of servant leadership which continues to shape the culture at Blue Ocean Capital today. Mark’s service in the areas of civic, cultural heritage, public policy and voluntary health and welfare organizations has been motivated by a genuine desire to advance opportunities for the underserved, advocating for responsible public policies, sustainable economic growth and overall quality of life for the broader Palm Beach County community.
Mark currently serves as Chairman of the Board for the Economic Council of Palm Beach County and as a Trustee for Palm Health Foundation. Some of his prior service includes leadership positions as Chairman of the Board of Governors for the Historical Society of Palm Beach County, Chairman of the Board for the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches, the Board of Directors for the Kiwanis Club of West Palm Beach and the Kiwanis Foundation of West Palm Beach and service as a committee member on the Florida Bar’s 15th Judicial Grievance Committee.
